A natural triple-action equine parasite control supplement that supports total digestive health

Active Ingredient: Parasitus Tractatio™

What is Strike?
Strike is Figuerola Laboratories’ safe, natural daily de-wormer and insect control dietary supplement clinically proven to eliminate gastrointestinal (and some circulatory) parasites and restore the ideal ratio of good to bad intestinal bacteria (80% to 20%) for your horse’s full digestive tract health. Strike is scientifically engineered to effectively eliminate protozoans, flukes, roundworms, and all varieties of tapeworms, and to control the insects that increase the risks of infestation.

How does Strike contribute to your horse’s digestive tract health, overall well-being, and optimal performance?
Even some veterinarians and other equine practitioners frequently fail to understand two important facts about equine parasites:

  • An unhealthy digestive system is the primary cause of equine parasite distress.
  • Solving parasite problems depends on maintaining bacterial balance in the digestive tract.

Owners, trainers, and equine health-care professionals know that a horse’s performance is directly related to its digestive health, and a healthy intestinal system relies on effective parasite and insect control. That is why Figuerola Laboratories developed Strike.

By controlling parasites and insects, Strike creates a digestive environment unfriendly to infestations and helps your horse to efficiently process and absorb the nutrients required to maintain weight, build muscle, and generate energy and stamina. Strike also enables performance horses facing additional rigors to train hard, perform well, and recover quickly from exercise.

Strike can help correct the underlying causes and restore digestive health in a variety of intestinal problems, including indigestion, intestinal gas and bloating, abdominal cramping, constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, and Crohn's disease. Disease states that improve when your horse’s digestive health is repaired include arthritis, allergies, chronic fatigue, obesity, and autoimmune disorders.

How can parasites affect your horse?
Parasites feed on the nutrients, cells, and organs of the host body (your horse), reproducing by depositing thousands of eggs or simply replicating by cell division. They include:

  • Protozoans: Small, generally microscopic organisms that live in the blood, tissues, and intestines, and capable of infecting every tissue in the body. Their vectors (carriers) are generally contaminated waters and insects (e.g., mosquitoes).
  • Flukes (trematodes, or flatworms): Generally flat and oval in shape and very small (one particular type of common fluke, Fasciolopsis buski, is 1 mm to 70 mm/3.5 inches in length). They commonly infect the intestines and other tissues, including the heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys, and are very difficult to eliminate, sometimes accumulating over a period of 10 to 20 years.
  • Roundworms (nematodes): Include the families of hookworm, pinworm, whipworm, threadworm, etc., ranging from 1 mm to many centimeters/inches. Commonly found in the intestines, and often contracted through the skin, they, like other parasites, may migrate throughout the body and present multiple symptoms of disease.
  • Tapeworms (cestodes): Generally the largest of the parasites, they are very mobile, capable of changing their location daily within the host’s body and releasing up to 1 million eggs per day. Some tapeworms may live as long as 25 years and can quickly reach upwards of 10 meters/33 feet in length within the gastrointestinal tract. Their larvae can be found in almost any organ and are capable of infecting other tissues.

Why can’t your horse’s immune system handle parasites?
Your horse’s immune system can control some parasitic growth, but it is generally unequipped to handle organisms that are multicellular and larger than most bacteria and viruses. Some parasites successfully invade the immune system by incorporating themselves around macrophages (the cells that destroy foreign bodies), and many spread throughout the body in very sophisticated ways to avoid detection by your horse’s immune system.

Are there medical procedures available to test for parasites?
Yes, but unfortunately they’re not very accurate. Some tests register some 50 out of 1,000 different varieties of parasites, but even these tests detect only about 20% of those truly infected, because parasites can take so many different physical forms during their development. These “numbers” translate to low accuracy levels—chances are, if your horse is really infected, you have only a 1% chance of finding out.

Are there any prescription medicines that effectively eliminate a broad spectrum of parasites?
Unfortunately not. Most available pharmaceutical drugs (parasiticides) are specific for only one particular parasitic organism. And most are generally not that effective because they target only certain aspects of the body’s metabolism, or only certain stages of parasitic development. Also, parasiticides are generally very toxic, even in the small doses needed, and need to be used carefully. Because of the survival strategies of parasites, including their ability to move quickly from the area being medicated to one that is not, it is almost impossible to completely eliminate them.

Why should Strike be a daily part of your horse’s natural digestive detoxification program?
Strike should be a daily part of your horse’s natural digestive detoxification program for six important reasons:

  • Strike includes antibacterial and antifungal herbs to help inhibit Candida albicans, plus a probiotic rebuilder that supports the immune system. Candida albicans is a yeast overgrowth signaling systemic unbalance caused by stress, fatigue, or an unhealthy diet. Strike’s herbal extracts and probiotic rebuilder help create a favorable environment for beneficial bacteria. Because candida and parasites tend to travel together, it is wise to treat for both simultaneously.
  • Strike’s herbal supplements help cleanse the liver of toxins. The liver is the target for toxins, harmful chemicals, and other contaminants. Strike supports liver function by naturally stimulating and facilitating the release of toxins.
  • Strike’s natural enzymes aid in resolving colic-causing indigestion, gas, bloating, and poor elimination, and in revitalizing overall digestive health. Digestion problems often occur because a horse’s modern diet consists mainly of enzyme-depleted foods. Strike includes a vegetarian enzyme that greatly enhances the digestion of all vital food groups, plus an enzyme rebuilder that balances digestive heat and supports proper gastric secretions.
  • Strike’s synergistic formula combines essential dietary fiber and acidophilus to promote healthy elimination, remove toxins, and prevent colic. Fiber is a vital part of a horse’s internal cleansing platform—insufficient fiber can cause poor elimination and resulting toxic buildup.
  • Strike’s gentle blend of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids provides essential bowel lubrication and supports the cardiovascular system. Essential fatty acids must be supplied through regular diet or supplements because the horse’s body does not naturally manufacture them.
  • Strike repels flies and insects, reducing the possibility of further parasite infestation. Flies and other insects may land but won’t bite—they can’t tolerate the odor of a horse whose diet has been supplemented with Strike. Eliminating fly and insect bites lowers the possibility of parasite infestation.

How do Strike’s ingredients work to combat parasites and insects and help maintain a healthy digestive system?
Strike’s proprietary formula, Parasitus tractatio™, contains powerful high-sulfur nutrient extracts that have been used successfully for centuries in the treatment of parasites, as well as other ingredients that help destroy adult and developmental stages of at least 100 parasite varieties.

Strike’s all-natural ingredients include:

  • Polar lipids (from Omega-MAX™ and oat oil, similar to the polar lipids in the digestive tract mucous lining): Coat the intestines and help transport fat-soluble nutrients into the enterocytes, facilitating the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. (A healthy horse can absorb fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, and K.)
  • L-threornine and amino acids (building blocks for maintenance of healthy cells): Provide the essential amino acids necessary to create mucus. (In a healthy horse, mucus in the stomach can handle the extra acids that result from intermittent feeding.)
  • L-glutamine: Helps to rebuild the mucous membrane that lines the digestive tract, ensuring proper absorption of nutrients.
  • N-acetyl glucosamine: A key component in maintaining the health of the intestinal lining that feeds beneficial intestinal bacteria and inhibits harmful bacteria.
  • Fibram maguey (from maguey cactus): Stimulates digestion; helps nurture and preserve intestinal flora; helps maintain more steady absorption of sugars in the intestines; strengthens intestinal walls; alleviates stomach ulcers; prevents water retention.
  • Beta glucans (from soluble oat fiber): Helps maintain a natural rate of feed transit so nutrients can be fully digested and absorbed; helps moderate the rate of sugar absorption for a natural, steady supply of energy and more even temperament.
  • Yeast extract: Supports intestinal health through nucleotides (which support intestinal tissue health) and mannan oligosaccharides (which maintain a healthy microbial environment); supports the normal recovery of tissue in the intestines.

Are there any side effects with Strike?
None. Strike is completely safe and non-toxic. Unlike other anti-parasitic medications, Strike works naturally, without the side effects that may cause nausea, diarrhea, etc.
